seems me, what was already discussed..

But i only want things i can integrate with smartthings, so the qeustion: somebody wrote a smartapp or device handler for the vacuum cleaner or is someone willing to make one. I really would like to buy one and control it in my flows. This would have more attention if the Xiaomi vacuum was cheap like their other products. I am a single dad with 2 kids 10 and under, and 2 dogs… with hair… lots of it and not a whole lot of time on my hands, so anything taken off my plate is HIGHLY appreciated.

I did a lot of research, and landed on this one, partially because I am a risk taker, and also because it really seems like a great purchase in the world of automated cleaning, function, power. With that said, the app is good with the mi home app, but I am a big fan of consolidation. I have a Smartthings hub as the center-point of my home automation, with a google home and a hue hub all working together.

I have read where Home Assistant on a rpi has integration with the Xiaomi mi robot. Is there anyone that is smarter than I am that sees that this is a premium Vacuum, at a mid-level price, and is willing to potentially boost the popularity of this product by writing a smart app for it?

I am thinking of buying this as well. Great price for what seems to be a great product. Hoping for integration with smartthings. Looking to buy two Google home minis as well when visiting the US next time. Looks like it should be fairly simple to do, obtaining the token which you would need is a bit of a pain by the looks of it, but once you have that the control then looks fairly simple….

If anyone wants to buy me one however… haha. I own one of these things, and I have to say they are truly amazing.

Anyway, someone has achieved it alreadybut with home-assistant. If it has wifi i could prolly make it work by using a android pass through Though it will not be pretty Cant wait for someone to create one! It does have WiFi. Make it happen Eddy.

This vacuum is not only cost effective, but amazing. Can we do a bounty here to get someone to add it? I picked one up in November and absolutely love it. I have been searching for ST integration and would love to see what could be done so that I could tie it into routines and presence. I know there are some solutions for Home Assistant but really looking for something without the middle dependency. So I got a simple node. This would be Great!!! Sorry been dealing with the flu.

I have deleted my vacuum from my Mi Home app on my phone, and reset the WiFi settings on the vacuum. I then retrived the token by the Packetsender tool, added the vaccum to my Mi Homa account again, but the token is not accepted when I try to add the vaccum to my Homey.

You should not add the device to the Mi Home app after retrieving the token. It will reset once added to the Mi Home app. You should retrieve it after you have added it to the Mi Home app using the described methods. So the robot should first be set up in the Mi Home, then reset WiFi and retrieve token, and then connect the robot to WiFi again? Will try when I am back home again. Do not reset the WiFi after adding the robot to the Mi Home app.

Just follow the instructions in the link I posted. Ok, this is where I am lost. The instructions tells me to start with a reset of the device WiFi. I connect to the device with my computer and retrieve the token and save log. I complete the setup in the app by choosing the same WiFi as before, and retrieves the token again before it connects to my wifi. All tokens retrieved is the same. After the robot is connected to WiFi I tries to add it to Homey.

Install npm i homebridge-xiaomi-roborock-vacuum Downloads Weekly Downloads I recently acquired a Roborock S4 as a gift.

It has a fantastic integration in Home Assistant, so I was excited to get started. The following post describes the steps I took to get it integrated. The documentation for configuring the vacuum is pretty detailed and provides several options for the hardest part, which is retrieving the access token needed to send commands to the vacuum.

I was able to side-load the required version of the android Mi Home app without any issue. I was also able to find the access token in the logs on the sd-card. On the final step within the app I would always recieve the following error: Failed to start extension, try again.

Technically I could have just used the access token and started automating the vacuum, but I would have not been able to use any of the map features like creating zones to be cleaned. Using the roborock app reccomended by the manufacturer I was able to successfully add the vacuum, but there was no way to retrieve the access token. After a bit of research I came across a modified version of the Mi Home app that not only made adding the vacuum work, but also made it dead simple to obtain the access token and see what commands are sent to the vacuum from the app.

Integrating the Roborock S4 in Home Assistant

This was useful as I was able to figure out how to do certain actions not provided by the Home Assistant integration, like resetting the hours for when parts need to be replaced. It also made getting the parameters for a zone super simple. The website is in Russian but can be easily translated to English.

To do this I used adbbut this could also be down with a file browser app. I then side-loaded the APK on to a spare phone, started it up, and followed the normal process to add a new vacuum. I was able to add it without any issue.

Afterwards I tailed the created log file to obtain the access token. Now that I had the access token the last step was to update my configuration.

Next I used the modified version of the app and I ran the vacuum once in order for it to use the lidar to map out the floor. With this I was ready to create the zones for each room. The modified version of the Mi Home app will output all of the commands done in the app in the log file. After I figured out what the command was by creating zones in the app and monitoring the log file, I came up with a grep command to make it very simple to extract the parameters for each zone I defined in the app.

So while I tailed the log file, in the app I defined a zone on my map then tapped on the Clean button.

Note that in Home Assistant you only need to provide the first 4 numbers for that service call. The last number you see is the number of times to clean the zone. For reference this is what those 5 numbers map to: [x1, y1, x2, y2, repetitions]. The x and y coordinates define the box you created in the app. I noted the numbers for each zone I created and repeated the process until I had the parameters for all of the rooms on the map. A full clean will recreate the map and could modify the coordinates.

This would force you to recreate the zones to get the parameters again. I explain the advantages it has over the built-in yaml automations and Follow GitHub Linkedin.
